COWI North America Adds Tunneling Capability

On December 31, 2012, COWI North America purchased the shares of Jenny Engineering Corporation (JEC).  However, Jenny Engineering Corporation still continues to operate as Jenny Engineering Corporation.

The merger with COWI strengthens JEC's position as a leader in tunnel engineering in North America.  JEC's Springfield NJ headquarters has become COWI's North American center of excellence for tunnel engineering.  JEC also joins COWI's international tunneling practice, and joins with COWI's Copenhagen-based tunnel engineering team to pursue and execute projects outside of North America.

COWI North America consists of four COWI companies headquartered in North America:  Buckland & Taylor Ltd.; Ocean & Coastal Consultants, Inc.; Ben C. Gerwick, Inc.; and Jenny Engineering Corporation.  COWI North America companies continue to operate under their existing brands and management teams.  COWI presently employs over 300 staff in 15 US and Canadian offices.

COWI North America specialty companies form part of COWI's International Specialist Leader (ISL) practices for bridges, tunnels, and marine structures.  Globally, COWI employs over 1,000 bridge, tunnel, and marine specialist staff, and is busy engineering some the world’s largest infrastructure projects.
